Thing #5
Katie showed me the Flickr site. I thought it was very good, although I noticed that you can't really depend on the search engine. For example, I searched for "dinosaurs" and came up with lots of pictures for things that weren't dinosaurs. The dinosaur picture which was shown, though was inaccurate in identifying the species. They identified a Triceratops as a Styracosaurus. I mean, who makes that mistake?

Just goes to show what the average person knows!! Remember with social media, everyone is not an expert. That is why there is such controversy over the authority in Wikipedia, and why we, as educators, need to teach our students to be critical users of information...evaluating sources for their credibility.
